Young Womens Printable

I love finding printables for my young womens lessons. I always end up using a few ideas and then meshing them into my own. I figured why not post them so if people come across them they can benefit too!

This weeks lesson is from Manual 3 Lesson 29 - Having a Change of Heart.

For my handout I used this super cute idea from eighteen25 to start with.

I made pink sparkle playdough but put it in a small mason jar with a cookie cutter attached with ribbon. I made these labels to go on the top of the jar. I will updat with pictures of the finished product.

I think the girls will love it!

Family Rules Printable

Ok, so i know the show 19 Kids and Counting is a little wierd but for some reason I am amazed by it. There is a lot of respect betweent the members of the Duggar family and I really liked a lot of thier family rules. I made my own version of their list to hang in our home.

Stylin Little Guy

I saw these super cute onesies on etsy and thought i would try and see what i could do with my scrap fabric. Really easy to make and so fun!

Thought they were so cute i made one for a neighbor having a boy too!

Done!

ok...so that was the fastest project ever. i was feeling like i had to get this done quick just in case i went into labor...no such luck! maybe now the baby can come knowing that he has a place to sleep close to mom and dad. I told paul i was using a laundry basket for a bassinet and he rolled his eyes at me.
His words when he saw it "wow...it actually looks good" Oh ye of little faith.

I have had some requests on a tutorial for this. Unfortunately i didnt make one at the time but I did get the idea from this tutorial... http://shinymetalobjects.net/pics/bassinets/Laundry_Basket_Bassinet.pdf
I added my own style by adding a longer skirt, a sewn on tie and used a pillow with a cozy minky cover for the matress. Have fun making your own!

Use it Up, Wear it Out, Make it Do, or Do Without!

So, maybe i have been hiding under a rock, but i have never heard the quote "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without" untill a few weeks ago at church. We were having a lesson on provident living and someone used that quote. I really liked it and thought it was a great thing to start trying to incorporate into our lives...
Of, course thats when i realized that bella wont be out of the play yard/bassinet and into her toddler bed in time for the baby use it. So, naturally i check craigslist to see if there are any cheap bassinets...that leads to babys r us...which leads to a full on internet search...No, jenna. You do not need a new bassinet! But arent these cute!

Anyways...long story short. I remembered that quote. I thought "ok...how can i do this whith what i've got. Then i came across this picture and remembered that i have some adorable Joel Dewberry fabric that i am not using. Hmmm...i wonder.

If i used this fabric....

And this laundry basket i have lying around...

I cound totally pull off something like this...

And even better, i could take it around the house with me if i needed to. AND the kids wont be as likely to smush, fall on, tug on (etc. etc.) the new baby ; ) I will get you all pics when i get this done!

Actopus to Zelephant Nursery

I have had a few people ask me to post my alphabet card project. So, i saw this picture and liked it for hte babies room. I thought i would try it a little different though.

I bought these cards from michaels for about 6.50 and 2 canvases as well.
Add a little mod podge and this is what i came up with.

Here is what it looks like in the room, on the wall. Don't mind bella's little noggin. She loves playing the blocks i made.

Speaking of blocks...here they are. I know i am going a little over board with the "theme" but these dont necessarily have to stay in the room and like i said, the kids love them!
I went to the Jenn Ski Etsy shop (the designer of this cute collection) and found these cute pictures to put in bella's old owl frames.

Anyways. The nursery isn't really done yet, but this is a start!

Finished...After 3 Years

I know there are many of you that were around when i was BEGGING for a new bedroom set. We had this great log bed that paul built. I love it, but it just doesnt really flow with my decorating style. I love it in the guest room or in a cabin, just not our room. I want our room to be our little get away and that just wasnt happening. So, anyways it turns out that paul and i never really came to a solid agreement on getting this bed, but....well, it ended up in our room anyways. I did choose a less expensive dresser to go with it though, hoping to make paul a little happier about coming home to a new bedroom set. (just so you all know, paul has been known to come home with a car, jeep, or motorcycle). So, after a few years in our house we finally have it done!

The "H" will be replaced with the baby's sillhouette someday

Here is Bella's sillhouette
Hudson's sillhouette...love the curl in the hair.

Boppy Makeover!

I recently went to Babies R Us in search of a new boppy cover. I got this boppy with hudson because it was the only "boy" looking one they had.

Well, its not my favorite and i thought it was time for an update. Thanks again to Etsy i found some cute fabric and took on the challenge of making a cover. Here is a close up of the fabrics. Again, Amy Butler (that woman is a genious) and its oh so cute!

I dont know if you can tell, but there are some funky pleat things i had to put in. I should have gone with a zipper version, but i didnt have on on hand and knowing me, i just try and make it work with what i have. Not always the best choice. It ended up having a flap opening that velcros shut. It turned out ok...unless you look to close that is.

Ahh...much better if i do say so myself.

New Birdie Wrap Carriers

As most of you know i have been so busy that i have had to take a break from Tweetie Pie Baby. Lately we have had a few friends that want to place orders for wraps. I wanted to make them a little more special so here is what i came up with. Arent they cute! This is one i sent to a friend in denver.

I just had to make one for myself, so here is Little Baby Boy Haynie's (no....we still dont have a name) new wrap. Not the best picture of it, but I cant wait to cuddle him nice and close!

Make Your Own Nursing Cover

I bought this super cute Amy Butler fabric on clearance at Etsy and decided to make a nursing cover with it. It was so easy and only took about 30 min to do! I just googled "make your own nursing cover" and found tons of tutorials. I used this one from Little Birdie Secrets and it worked out great. I can't wait for this little man to come!

Sewing Room Pics

So, its not quite as put together as my dream sewing room, but thats ok cause i love it. Here is the inspirations picture
And here are a few real pictures from the room. I drew the branches on the wall then painted it. I found this great idea on the design dazzle blog to put real flowers on and i loved it

Brian and Sarah gave us their outcast bookcase (which was that orange-ish oak color) and i decided to paint it off white and antique it. I love how it turned out!
I was so sad to paint over Bella's pink room (new pics coming soon!) that i wanted a super girly room in the house. If not for Bella, then for me!

4th of July

Well, technically these pictures are from the 3rd of July but its all the same. We went to Rigby Lake for the firworks. It was nice all day then it rained and hailed right when we got there. It passed over and we ended up having a lot of fun. Even though i didnt end up with any pictures of them, my parents and brother got to be with us over the weekend. It was so fun to see Hudson cuddling up with my mom and dad by the camp fire. My kiddos sure loved having them here.
Here is Paul and Hudson both giving me a "why are you taking my picture" look.Brian is posing my the beach cruisers they brought along.
Paul had fun shuttling the kids back and forth on the little ducky.

Autumn Faye's Baby Blessing

My cousin and his wife had their baby 2 weeks ago and this past weekend we got to go to the baby blessing. Seeing these new babies is getting me so excited and nervous at the same time. I am SUPER nervous as to how i am going to manage 3. Anyways, Chelsea wanted me to make a cake for the blessing and this is what i came up with.

Gotta Love Camping!

Lately Paul has been wanting to take Hudson camping. I don't really feel like sleeping in a tent (camping and 8 month pregnant women dont mesh well) or dealing with Bella in a tent. So, we will all go and about 7:00 I will take Bella home to bed. Sarah and Brian came with us this last time and brought their razor. The kids had a blast. Here is hudson discovering that marshmallows light on fire.

The kids wanted to ride in Brians Razor the whole evening. It was a blast.
Hudson fell asleep on the drive out and waking him up is sometimes a big mistake. He was a major grump here. It just so happens that Bella walked straight into the picnic table at the same time and they both wanted me to hold them. Even though they were both crying I managed to smile for the picture : )
Bella helping Paul set up the tent.
